This Web-based query tool lets you retrieve MET/CAL® and MET/TRACK® data with your browser, over the Internet or your company's intranet
The Metrology XplorerTM Web server allows you to browse your calibration database and retrieve Fluke MET/CAL®, 5500/CAL® and MET/TRACK data over the World Wide Web or your company’s intranet.
Metrology Xplorer TM lets you:
- Track equipment location, users, and status
- See when equipment was last calibrated and when it is due for its next calibration
- Make selected data available to your customers or to other departments in your organization
- Examine calibration results
- Reduce requests for printed reports, general inquiries, and other interruptions to your daily work flow
- …and more
|
Any query that you can do with Fluke’s dedicated MET/CAL® Plus system can also be accomplished with Metrology Xplorer® . The people who need information about their equipment can get the latest data available, in real time, from any computer connected to the Internet, using commonly available Web browsers like Netscape Navigator® or Microsoft® Internet Explorer. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
Access to Metrology XplorerTM is controlled by usernames and passwords. Your designated system administrator maintains control of who has access - and what they can see. Access to specific records and data fields can be set up for each user. Even asset segregation can be applied to limit a user's view. This means that each user has access only to the information that is relevant, and confidential records stay secure. Access is "read only" so users can look at information but not change it.
Choose Internet or intranet access
If you don’t want or need to provide data over the public Internet, you can choose to run Metrology XplorerTM on your company’s intranet. That way, only departments within your company have access to the data. Users can check the status of equipment in the cal lab and also produce lists of instruments coming due for calibration and maintenance, all in real time, without interrupting the flow of work in the lab.
Easy to install and operate
Metrology XplorerTM includes a Web server and CGI program which are installed on your MET/BASE server. An administrator program lets you manage user permissions and Web-based reports. Once the server is up and running, any machine on the network can access data if it has a compatible browser installed.
Operation is easy and intuitive. The screens sent to the browser closely match the query screens you use in MET/CAL®, 5500/CAL® and MET/TRACK®. All of the field customization rules are applied. You can even display customized field titles, a big advantage if you have translated them into foreign languages or changed them to match your company's terminology.
